Easter Weekend 2011

And what a weekend it was! Jackson and I left for Tulsa on Thursday. It was the first night we've spent away from the daddy.  We certainly missed him but made due. :) On Friday, Jackson and I headed over to visit Toni and Dylan. We hadn't seen each others babies since Christmas so it was no surprise the changes that had occured in 4 months.  Dylan is a walking fool and Jackson isn't quite a prisoner of the floor anymore! Toni and I had a wonderful time catching up and watching the boys. We went to Bass Pro to see the Easter Bunny but someone told Toni the wrong times so he wasn't there yet. So we went to Uncle Buck's Grill to get a bite to eat...have I mentioned I'm more hungry these days than I was when I was pregnant?!?! We split a yummy chicken quesadilla and then waited for a break in the thunder storm to run to our cars and head out. Here are some of the pictures from our day together. (crisp pictures courtesy of Ryan's super awesome camera; you can tell which ones are mine!)

On Saturday, we met Ryan, Toni and Dylan for an Easter Egg hunt at The Assembly church in BA. There were 35,000 eggs, yes you read that right...35 thousand! And thank goodness too.  After our age groups hunt, Jackson only made out with 2 eggs.  I didn't even realize the little girl swiping eggs from under him! Regardless we had a great time and even got a picture with the Easter Bunny. After the hunt we went to lunch with The Smith's at Chick-fil-A...yummy.

After lunch we headed to the Green Country Open House. It was a lot of fun to go out and support Jared and his motorcycle shop. We hung out with all our friends and got to see Derek Cook do some really cool (and scary) tricks. Bev and Marla got to see Jackson for the first time as well so that was really fun.

Later that evening, we went over to Nana and Papa's house to dye some Easter eggs with the girls. Jackson wasn't all that interested.  Next year will be a blast for sure.

On Easter day, we had lunch at the Curry's house. It is always so great to see everyone together and of course they love seeing how much Jackson has grown.

We also had lunch at Nana and Papa's house. Grandma and Grandpa Sparkman and Aunt Rogena couldn't believe how big and strong Jackson was getting.
{Sorry, still waiting on pictures to be sent to me}
We had a wonderful time spending the weekend with our friends and family. We definitley packed in a lot of activities! While we love spending time with everyone in BA, we were certainly glad to be home after such a crazy weekend!

Almost on the Move!

He's really starting to get a hang of this movement thing! It's amazing how much he changes in just a few days.

Red/White Game

Every year, the Sooners have an open scrimmage called the Red/White game. We have never been and when I got an email from the Athletic department about tickets, I thought it would be a fun tradition to start going every year now that we have Jackson. So we packed up the diaper bag and headed down to Norman. We got to park right across from the stadium because Chris has a job going at the McCasland Field House.  So spoiled! For the first half, we sat in the sun but decided it was too hot for Jackson so we moved to the shade at the half. We spent more time watching Jackson than the game! I guess that's how it goes now. After the game we ran over to the bookstore to see my old boss Leslie. Unfortunately we had just missed her...very sad. Then we walked around campus a little bit. We visited Gould Hall, the construction science school and Price Hall, the business school.  It was surreal to be there with a baby...we've come so far.  I still remember my first day of classes in January 2002!! It was so fun to take pictures with Jackson...maybe some day he will be a second generation Sooner.
