Thanksgiving 2010

So many things to be thankful for this year. We had a fantastic pregnancy followed by the safe and magical delivery of a beautiful and healthy baby boy. What more could we have asked for. We are truly blessed. We made our very first road trip to Tulsa with Jackson the day before Thanksgiving. The car was stuffed full of luggage making us realize how badly we need a car rather than a truck!  We stopped by Target on the way out of town to grab a few things.  I figured we would be in and out so I didn't bring the diaper bag...boy I'll never do that again!  Chris went to get some coffee at the Starbucks in the front of the store with the baby in tow and I ran to grab a few things before we met back up to run to the baby section.  When we got back together, Chris explained that Jackson had spit up all over himself and the car seat (a lot of spit up) and he couldn't do anything about it because we hadn't brought in the diaper bag!  Opps!!  So Chris took him to the car and I finished shopping.  Poor little guy!  His parents are a work in progress!!  So after a few snafus, we eventually got on the road to Tulsa.  He was perfect; he does love the car so I wasn't too concerned. He didn't make a peep the whole trip.  I was so thankful.  I wasn't looking forward to stopping every  minutes if he were upset!

Our first stop Thanksgiving Day was at my Aunt Janice and Uncle David's house. It was so fun for everyone to see Jackson. He was only weeks old and still so tiny. We had such a great time catching up with everyone.  Austin and Jonathan got to meet him for the first time too.

Our next stop was Chris' parents house.  By this time, Jackson was a pro at being passed around!  He was so sweet and such a good boy.  Aunt Rogena and Jeffrey got to meet him for the first time.

{Pictures to Come}

Later that night we went to Lights On! at Utica Square.  We have gone every year since we started dating in 2001.  This year was extra special since it was Jackson's first.  Unfortunately the Tulsa Police Department  is lame and wouldn't let us park anywhere so we missed the lights...it was very sad.  Once we parked, we met the family at our tree and got some pictures.  Then we ventured over to PBKids to get a picture with Clancey and check out the new toys of the season.

All tuckered out from his first Thanksgiving Day!

Friday night we went to my Grandmothers to celebrate the winter birthdays...Grandmother and Michael (and now Jackson!).  We had a great time catching up and passing around the baby.

Saturday afternoon, my mom hosted an informal come-and-go so the rest of our friends could come meet Jackson.  Unfortunately with such short notice and being on Bedlam game day, not too many people were able to come.  We are so glad Scott and Devan and Cara got to meet him; Ryan, Toni and Dylan came too!  Later on that evening, we ran over to Nate's parents house to show him off!

Sunday we stopped by Grandma and Grandpa Bright's so they could finally meet their new great grandson.  Mike and Kathy were there too.  Sadly, Kathy was getting over a cold so she opted to pass on holding him.

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend.  We have such a fantastic family to share
this holiday with. We are so blessed.
