Pumpkin Patch

We visited the Parkhurst Pumpkin Patch with Auntie Na and Uncle Ro today. The weather was unseasonable warm but that's better than being cold! Since Chris and I had been to Chester's Party Barn & Farm a few years before I was looking for something different. I really wanted an actual patch to walk through and unfortunately we didn't get that here. Next year, we'll have to make the drive to the real patch in Norman but we still had fun walking around the farm. Jackson got to see some animals and even ride his first pony. He was feeling a little under the weather and wasn't too keen on riding with me beside him so the guy told me to hop on! So there I was, riding my first pony (at least as an adult). I found it to be quite hilarious. Not sure if AJ felt the same way though. Oh well, it was one for the record books.
After the pony ride we got in line for the hay ride. Not only was this Jackson's first hay ride, it was Uncle Ro's as well! I was pretty excited for both of them. We got prime seats since we were first in line and we got to hunt for pumpkins along the ride. It was fun seeing the older kids having such a good time. Jackson wasn't too interested that he was on a flatbed filled with hay being pulled by a tractor but there's always next year!
After the hay ride we headed to the front to pick out our pumpkins. Jackson enjoyed holding his big pumpkin on the way to the car. We got a couple of cute little guys too.
On the way home, we made a quick pit stop at Pops to get some yummy soda. It was a really fun day and I'm glad Auntie Na and Uncle Ro could come along.

Ranger's Weekend

Since 2007, Chris and I have been taking an annual trip to Arlington, TX to attend one of the last Ranger's games of the season. This started as a birthday gift for his 28th birthday but quickly became a tradition. This year we got to take Jackson to his first Major League Baseball game and Auntie Na and Uncle Ro tagged along for the fun as well.

We all piled into RoNa's Murano and  left early Saturday morning since the game had been rescheduled from 7 to 3. The first half of the trip wasn't very pleasant as Jackson was not a happy camper. We made a nursing pit stop and I was finally able to get him to take a nap. The rest of the trip was very quiet!
We checked into the hotel to change clothes and headed for the ball park. The Ranger's were playing the Mariner's and had just beat them the night before so we had high hopes for a win. Our seats were fantastic and we even got lucky enough to be under an overhang and didn't have to bake in the sun. Next year, I'll try to look for the same seats again. We were also on an aisle which was helpful since Jackson was all over the place the entire game. He bounced between all 4 of us and I think Uncle Ro had the best time with him. :) Jackson seemed to have a good time and would clap every time the crowd would cheer for the Ranger's. The game was pretty short considering most games last quite some time and we won 7-3!

After, the game we ran to T.G.I.Friday's for dinner and to watch the OU/Missouri game since our hotel didn't carry the channel it was on. After dinner, my former coworker Margaret and her husband Mike came to visit with us and meet Jackson. I absolutely loved seeing her and catching up. We hadn't seen each other since Paycom Prom 2009 and I definitely miss talking to her every now and then at work. I hope we can get together every year we make out annual trip. She's a fantastic lady and her husband is so nice too. Such a sweet and loving couple and I'll be glad to continue to have her in my life.

We had a great weekend and I can't wait to take Jackson again. He will enjoy it even more as he gets older.

Summer 2011 {Six to Nine Months}

SO much has happened this summer and thinking about catching up on my blog gives me a headache. Where do I start? How much do I write? How do I get it all in without my head exploding?? I've decided I'm going to go through my calendar and highlight the most important milestones and events and try to upload a ton of photos. A picture is worth a thousand words right??! I think this will be better than trying to write 20 posts to cover everything. Enjoy our summer happenings! This covers almost everything from May 10th through September 9th.

My Favorite Things (said in true Oprah style!)

Not to say I'm the go to mom for baby stuff nor do I think there's nothing superior to what I have, but of my vast collection of baby stuff I've found a few things I couldn't live without and most certainly recommend to all my mommy friends and mommies-to-be.
